Greg was working pretty much all day. I spent most of the day on a writing project, but was able to fit in a walk around the neighborhood in the afternoon. While the streets were mostly empty, a few masked souls braved the unhealthy air quality (AirNow.gov score 170 which is in the very unhealthy zone for strenuous activity) and the heat (87 degrees). I had a nice stroll. There was a little breeze and the smoke seemed less intense than yesterday. I discovered that our hotel is right next to a museum which may explain the many beautiful pieces of public art.
Here are some that caught my eye. Please forgive the substandard photography. My phone is pretty old and the camera is not up to the quality you're used to from Greg's phone. This fall Greg and I are leaving our Vermont home and zig zagging the country so that Greg can continue to cover his NFL football games without getting on planes. I know it seems crazy, but isn't that everything these days? We will be driving to each game, week by week, until the end of the football season. Follow along to read about our life on the road and the places we see along the way!

Day 10: San Jose, California
After the walk, I took a bit of time to do a sort of photo essay which, for lack of a more inspired title, I'm calling . . .
"Hotel during pandemic"
And, last, a self-portrait with a poor camera and poorer photography skills. No map today as we are still in San Jose through the game tomorrow.
What a beautiful mama I have!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anna. And thank you and Adam for taking care of the home front. That is so important. And, thank you, Adam for teaching me how to reply to comments on Blogger!
